FAQs
What is yoga nidra?
Yoga nidra, or “yogic sleep”, is a deeply restful guided meditation, usually practised lying down. It’s a space between waking and sleeping – a state of calm awareness where the body can unwind, and the mind can gently settle.
Do I need experience?
Not at all. Yoga Nidra is accessible for everyone — there’s no “right” way to do it. Whether you feel deeply relaxed, drift off, or simply rest quietly, it’s all perfect.
Will I fall asleep?
You might, and that’s okay! Some people drift in and out, others stay awake. However you experience it, you’ll receive the benefits.
What are the benefits?
Yoga nidra can:
Improve sleep.
Reduce stress & anxiety.
Calm the nervous system.
Support emotional balance.
Boost creativity.
Yoga nidra is suitable for all — no prior experience with yoga or meditation is required. The practice meets you exactly where you are, whether you fall asleep, feel deeply relaxed, or simply rest in stillness. There’s no right or wrong way to experience it.

FAQs
What shall I bring to class?
If it’s your first class, you’re welcome to borrow a mat and props before deciding whether to invest in your own equipment.
Otherwise, please bring along:
A yoga mat
Yoga props you might want to use, such as blocks, bricks, a bolster, or a strap (a dressing gown belt works well too!)
Optional: A blanket for extra padding or cosiness during relaxation
Comfortable clothing that allows easy movement
A bottle of water
Having your own yoga kit is recommended for hygiene and energetic reasons if you attend classes regularly. However, if purchasing your own equipment isn’t possible for any reason, I’m happy to discuss options for a longer-term arrangement.
Is your yoga classes suitable for beginners?
Yes, classes are tailored to all levels, including complete beginners. If you are thinking about trying yoga for the first time, you are very welcome to join.
Are your yoga classes accessible?
It is important that the classes are accessible and inclusive. If you have access requirements, for example a health condition, injury, hearing problem or preferred communication style, I am committed to working with you and will do what I can to accommodate any access requests. If you have any questions about accessibility, please feel welcome to contact me to discuss further.
Practices are taught by ‘modifying up’ so you can choose the option that feels suitable for you. Everything is invitational.
You can find detailed access information about our venue on the All Saints Church Hall AccessAble page ↗.
How much do classes cost?
Classes are £10 pay as you go (increasing to £12 from 1 January 2026)
You can pay via bank transfer in advance (preferred) or cash at the class. Payment details will be emailed to you after booking.
If cost is a concern, please don’t let that deter you from practicing yoga. I’m happy to discuss flexible payment options such as a concession or alternative arrangements to ensure classes remain accessible to everyone. Feel free to reach out, and we can work something out together.
What is your booking process?
Booking is essential, please book directly by emailing me at rhiannon@the-rest-is.yoga. I will respond to confirm your booking. Payment must be made by 24 hours before class. The cancellation policy is available.
If you can no longer attend a class, please let me know no less than 24 hours before.
Before the session, you’ll be asked to complete a confidential health questionnaire online via a link to Google Forms. If it is not possible to submit this online you can complete a paper copy at your first class. You are free to decide what, and how much, information you share, but please note the disclaimer – you are responsible for your own health if you do not disclose.
I’m unsure and want to learn more before joining a class. Can I contact you to discuss?
Of course! If you’re unsure about attending, please don’t hesitate to reach out by emailing me. I’m happy to answer your questions via email or arrange a phone chat to discuss further.
Every yoga teacher and class is unique, and it’s important to find the right fit for you. If my classes don’t feel like the right match, don’t be discouraged—it might just mean exploring a different style or teacher to find what works best for you.
